Reviewing our I can animate app on our ipad

On our class ipad we have an app called I can animate. We are trying to get other classes to get it.

What is good about this app?- It is much easier and clearer to use then the computer.

How would this app help a learner?-You can make simple animations and then put them into imovie to make it more interestng.

There is nothing wrong with getting this app it only costs $4.19.

This is our animation we made on I can Animate it's based on the habits of mind.

Reflective

This week we have almost completed our Oryx the mad god costume we have finished our shield, body armour, shoes, sword and pants we just have to glue the black horns onto the helmet and we are mainly done. We are also having an art festival when we will share all of our wearable arts that we have created out of recycable items. I have also been in the school mural group . We are designing a mural for the back wall of the activety centre.

Job application

I am writing to apply for the position of the five star Cadbury chocolate factory. As I am a great treat designer I would come up with some great treats for girls and boys all over the world.


I fell that I am well qualified for the job. I understand the importance of working in a team with your Ompa lumpas- no offence they are tiny.

Reflective Week 4

This term for visual art we are going to be making wearable arts. My group are going to make a mad god called Oryx. We are going to model Mac to look like him.

This year our inquiry is music. At the moment we have been To room 7 and done music , room 6 and done drama and last of all room 8 and we did dance. We still have to do visual art in room 5. After wen have been to all of them we get to choose one of them to be our main focus and learn about.

Shape Reflection week 1

Today we got to make 3D shape out of tooth picks and blue tack. But we had to name how many vertices(corners), faces and the edges they had.

The picture on top has 6 faces,12 edges and 8 vertices.

The one on the bottom has 5 faces,9 edges and 6 vertices.

Green screening at Enrich

Every Wednesday I go to Enrich Witch is a school for gifted learners. For Talent Development we got to choose to do art , documentarys (movie making) or writing. I chose to do documentarys with Tom and Ken. We had to do them on imovie and we wanted to do ours on The History Of Southland Rugby. For our Imovie we needed a picture with us in the All blacks so we Green Screened Tom. Green screening is when you have a green background and you take a photo of your self and you can connect it with another photo in Imovie.

Water into ice

Water turns into ice when it gets below 0 degrees.

The types of matter are liquid, solid and gas. If the water is a liquid the tiny atoms move around really fast and overlap each other. If the water is a solid which is ice the atoms hardly move they only viberate.

So that means atoms slow down when they get colder and when the temperature is above 0*C they speed up. For example ice blocks would be a solid so the atoms would only viberate. With gas the atoms move around really fast because they have lots of energy.

Animation reflection

My group did a stop motion animation with the Ipad 2. It had to be based on a habit of mind. Are one was persisting. I learnt how to use Imovie better and that the story board needs to be detailed. We aslo used the safety towns for the background. Next time i think we need to make it easier to understand and also still do one photo because it makes it run smoothly.

Rhythm Interactive

Today are school got a surprise witch was the Rhythm Interactive people.Rhythm Interactive are these two people that have over two hundred drums they also tour around schools and teach them how to play the Jembay drum. When I walked into the hall everyone was banging on their drums it was really loud.We needed to copy the tune that the man was doing.

Jimmy's big wait the real truth

On a nice sunny day in Townsville there was an old man called Marty he was a fire truck driver. Since it was so hot he thought that he might need a nice cold fresh ice cream cone from down the road.  So he hopped in his big red fire truck cranked it up and started roaring down the road. Meanwhile there was a burglar hiding behind the bush which was beside the ice cream and apple store. As soon as

 The fire truck drove along the burglar

 Pulled out his two glock seventeen pistols
and shot the fire engine right in the tyre so

 it would spin out of control and crash into

 the Apple store. And that is what it did so

 that was the end of Marty. There was also

 a person called Jimmy who wanted to buy

 his first ipod touch from the Apple store.

 He walked up to the apple store and saw

 That it was smashed so he would have to wait till next year until the store is rebuilt to get his ipod touch . One year later he walked back to the brand newApple store and the shop keeper greeted

The adventures of potato chip and onion dip-part 2

''Is that the best you've got". Hot Chip went red in the face the nacho cheese that was covering him was melting. He wriggled free. ''Dad shoot them again" said Chip. We will search for him in the morning. When Chip woke up his Dad was all redy geared up with all of the latest technology .''Let's go" he said.

They jumped in the car and drove into town. ''Where are we going to look first?" asked chip .''We will check Mcdonalds first" added Chip's dad. They finally arrived at Mcdonalds . ''This looks like the place". The sign on the window said HOT CHIPS AVAILBLE. They walked inside and asked a worker if they could talk to the boss of the restaurant.He led them to the bosses office. The adventures of potato chip and his side kick onion dip

Once upon a time in a little town called Foodsville there were these two boys called Potato Chip and Onion Dip they were both Kiwiana.

One day they were walking down the road and a cow blew up.''Oh No it's Hot Chip and his side kick Tomato Sauce" said Onion Dip.

They sent their evil minuns to fight them because they were to hungry so they sat down and had some hot chips and tomato sauce.

Mean while Chip and Dip were fighting the evil minuns.

''We will meet again" shouted Hot chip and he blasted off with his sidekick.

''When is again?" said dip I don't know.

So they just walked back home to their doughnut house and had some afternoon tea.

Later that night dip had a sleep over at chips house. As they went to bed they heard a little creek it sounded like the window was opening ''What is that asked chip worried?".

Then they heard an evil laugh.''Oh no it's hot chip and his sidekick again"

As the boys tried to escape from the room tomato sauce squirted a hunk of sticky tomato sauce at them so there feet were stuck to the floor.

Suddenly the door slammed open and Mr Nacho Cheese (Hot chips dad)came blasting in with his nacho cheese ray shooting every moving food in the room of course apart from chip and dip.

What are blogs

Blogs are  basically a digital diary on the internet.  A blog is on a computer.

You need internet access to view your blog. You can mainly put what ever you want on them.  Some of the things you can put on your blog are games,gadgets,photos,writing,websites and links.

You can also comment on other peoples blog and they can comment back.

On blogs you can show you learning about what you have been doing it's like a giant writing book.

To be safe on your blog you can change the settings so only friends and family can view it and if someone does a rude comment it doesn't go straight on the owner of the blog checks it before it goes on.

I think a blog is like a diary on the internet where you can put your work and what ever you want on it.

Is the world a dangerous place for kids?

The world can be a very dangerous place for kids and also adults.  You should always have an adult or parent with you when you go out side because there are lots of dangerous things in town also in the country there are lots of dangers like wild animals , electric fences , farm tools and much more.

L.p goal

This year our class is doing doing l.p goals. l.p stand for learning profiles. All of the goals that you can achieve are problem solving,responsibilty for self and aware of others,active listener,using my initiative,having pride in my achievements ,being organized and being a questioner. MY goal is To be a questioner.

What makes us a Kiwi

A Kiwi is someone that was born in New Zealand and values the enviroment and their family.

They also like to eat bluebird chips and onion dip,fish and chips with Watties T sauce, Bluff oysters and the famous pavlova.

Kiwis like to wear red band gumboots ,jandals,sunnies and maybe a swandri when they go duck shooting.

The holidays that Kiwis have are Waitangi Day,Summer Christmas and Anzac Day.

The things that we have on our houses are a deck,and corrigated iron on the roof.

In conclusion I believe that a kiwi is someone that was born in New Zealand and cheers for our rugby team the All Blacks.

My problem solving super hero Red Riot

Red Riot is a man, mainly machine. He flies around town all day with his ultra fast jet pack and supersonic problem solving blasters in his hand. Red Riot's worst enemy is the Black Winged Python. Even though he hasn't beaten him yet he is now up for a fight to knock some knowledge into him.

This is the finishing of my groups Kiwiana character.  After we had finished making our guy we decorated a board for him to go on.

Once apon a time a time there were two call kids named George and Harold.They had been on many exiting adventures but this one was by far the worst.When the lunch ladies quit there job Mr Krupp the Principal finds new ones but are they planning to take over the world

Why does room 8 blog

Why do we blog?

Room 8 have blogs because then we have another way of showing our
learning.If you don't have a blog only your teachers and family can see
what you've learnt.But if you do have a blog everyone else can see what
you've been doing.You can do many more things with blogs as well you can
show what you've been doing in class time.

Today my group carried on with there paper mache person.
We painted a coat of skin colour and painted his L&P tank on his back brown.

Jack's famous rocky road slice

You will need-
1 cup of pink and white mini marshmallows
1 packet of malt biscuits
1/2 cup each of roasted peanuts & roasted brazil nuts
1/2 cup chopped green glace cheeries
200g cooking chocolate
150g unsalted butter

1.Place marshmallows,crushed malt biscuits,nuts and cheeries in a bowl.
stir to combine

2.Break chocolate into a saucepan,add butter.Stir over a low heat until chocolate and butter are melted,remove from heat.

3.Pour over marshmallow mixture and stir well until combined.Spoon mixture
into flat (23x13x5cm) dish lined with baking paper or spoon into patty cases.

4.Refrigerate until firm.Cut into small squares or fingers.

Paper mache pulp people

In room 8 I have been making a Kiwiana paper mache character.
I also used pulp (which is like clay) to mould around the outside of the character to make him stronger and fatter.
The ideas my group have are to put a L&P tank on his back.
He will also be wearing a swandri and Canterbury shorts.
I hope he will turn out good.
